Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
Chicken are raised from chicks to market-weight and then butchered at the Rainy River District Regional Abattoir. They are provincially inspected before approved for sale. The birds are then vacuum packed and frozen at Rainy River Meats, an approved meat processing facility.
Limited availability - first come, first serve! Over the winter we had the opportunity to purchase our own farm and moved out of town. We also applied to become an Artisan Chicken Producer, which allows us to raise chickens along side bigger commercial farmers to produce chicken for our own markets
